'Kick it
through' is Green Hornet's
third vinyl release this year. A ruthless loud and wild rocker from the gentlemen from

After their in the beginning of the
year 2000 released debut cd 'Going down' (dream
8) Green Hornet (from Groningen, Holland) has been touring the Dutch and German club
venues extensively. Highpoint was their gig at the Lowlands-festival. At the end of the year they went into the studio to record material for three 45 rpm vinyl releases. A 7" has been released on the High School Reject Records label in Groningen. A split 7"-single with Rotterdam-based band Feverdream wasreleased in May 2001. Second of the trio releases is the 10" 'Heavyweights', a split label between Saddle Tramp (from Nottingham) and Transformed Dreams. Getting their inspiration from Rhythm & Blues, Soul, Trash and Punk,'Heavyweights' shows more convincing than ever the different sides of Green Hornet: Exciting 'Rockers' and trashy instrumentals take turns with soulful ballads. With their unusual line-up of organ, mouthharp, guitar and drums, Green Hornet translates their obsession with tradition (a/o. Robert Ward/Lonnie Mack influences, in the song 'God knows they've taken plenty from me' you can hear a speech of Jimmy Swaggert) through energy and excitement into their very own sound. Even more than on their debut cd, Green Hornet has managed to put their fat and wild live-sound on record. |

| Holland's main pop/rock magazine about 'Heavyweights': 'Green Hornet made their debut last year with the fat album 'Going Down' and perfect their sultry mix of stirred up sixtiespunk and glorious instrumentals on the vinyl-ep Heavyweights. And Heavyweights they are without doubt, these stage-tigers from Groningen. Unrivalled in their own country. | |

Organ, harp, guitar and drums are the force for a unique sound: the dirtiness of the Chicago blues, the soul of the gospel, the madness of 50-ties rockabilly, the groove of early funk and the drive of punk. Pure excitement! |

| "Going down is an
energetic, ruthless, swinging and mostly instrumental blues & roll record with a
soulheart. The
vicious guitar, the in turn nightclubby and steamy organ and the driving drums work
seriously on your sweat and fatness" (OOR) "Pure Rock and Roll that gets you at your throat. Let it be a wildfire: Green Hornet are high class" (Fret-magazine for Dutch music only) |
